If Jamie's experience at Cal Poly - described by Oprah as the happiest place on Earth and by Jamie as some of the absolute best years of her life - could be summed up by one person, it would be Amy. I will forever remember the day we initially bonded (not realizing Amy had been hiding from me at parties - that's a story for another day) and I realized I had found a tall beautiful friend who also could throw a football like a champ and was a co-conspirator in impressing the firefighters next door. We became roommates starting our third year and made priceless memories the next few years, in which there are not enough pages on this site to describe.
Amy was my camping buddy, DTSLO companion (we turned 21 well before everyone else), fitness motivator, life hacker (she both can drive stick shift and curl hair - deadly combo), honorary Dels employee (even if she hates honey butter), travel duo and best friend. Strong women as even stronger role models are hard to come by, and Amy is the very embodiment of the best one, both in college and to this day. She's raising two strong daughters (one of which, at five years old and finding out no woman has been to the moon yet, confidently claimed she would change that) and an adorable son with her awesome husband Oakley, while also being a CrossFit champion, full time Nurse Practitioner, and featured ESPN kickballer. And she can still curl and french-braid hair like a boss. I may have met Amy at the happiest place on Earth but she is responsible for making my life the happiest (and most grounded, and inspired, and wanderlust, and full of laughter) of them all.
