Jamie loved Paula from the very get go, yet somehow this love has only strengthened over the years. If you're lucky enough to know Paula, you can vouch she's absolutely the funniest person you know - comedic timing, self-deprecating humor and the willingness to do the worm in front of hundreds of people being items I thoroughly appreciate (but seriously, she practiced standup in NYC!). She's also the full package - unbelievably kind and thoughtful, insightful and grounded, not to mention drop dead gorgeous.
We became fast friends at Cal Poly, and Paula was actually my first official relationship on Facebook (TheFacebook back in the good ol' days). However, we became even closer during the years after college, taking annual girls trips with Amy and living in cities in which I frequently visit (from New York to San Francisco, Paula stays steadfast in having good taste where she lives). It's a true testament to the friendship that distance and age have only made our friendship stronger, and Paula's candor and insight and authenticity will make anyone who meets her want to became fast friends as well, for she's an absolute gem of a human being and my life is infinitely better for having her in it.
